Alex Manvel & Virginia Tilley
In December, the 2018 Wardens, Alex Maneval and Virginia Tilley handed over the baton to the 2019 Wardens. I asked them to share some thoughts as they ended their tenure. You can read about our 2019 Wardens here.
"For the past year, I have felt fulfilled by the wardenship that the Rev’d Tyler Montgomery, and now the Rev’d Dan McClain, have entrusted to me. The most important lesson I have learned in this position has been in Christian leadership. The job of a warden is not to be the face of Canterbury, but rather encourage and assist the students who consistently offer themselves for God’s work on our campus and in the Williamsburg area. In the last few months, I have watched a new generation of Canterbury leaderships arise and I am excited for the future of the ministry, with such self-giving students at the helm."
"This past semester as warden has been an absolute joy for me. I had the opportunity to join Virginia in her second semester of serving as well as help welcome Father Dan to the W&M Canterbury family. It has been humbling to help guide this organization that has done so much to help me grow as a person and as part of the body of Christ, and I look forward to watching Canterbury continue to grow and thrive!"
