Canterbury Fall Retreat 2018

Be sure to mark your calendar for Canterbury's overnight Fall Retreat on November 2-3rd at Chanco on the James, just across the river in Surry. Check out the schedule, sign up to attend, and let us know if you can drive. The Fall Retreat offers us all a chance to step away from the busyness of the school environment, get to know each other better, meet Canterburians from other colleges, and reflect on our relationship with God.

This year’s theme is Baptism, the sacramental initiation of a person into God’s Kingdom. Ever since Jesus’ baptism in the Jordan River, Christians have been following his example and instruction to make disciples and baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We’ll talk about the difference that baptism makes in our lives, in the Church, and in the world during small group discussion.

We plan to arrive at Chanco between 5-6pm on Nov. 2, and depart the following afternoon around 4pm. While at Chanco, we’ll enjoy a bonfire, small group time, evening and morning prayer, and the renowned Chanco Ropes Course. A more detailed schedule will be available soon!
